Insulation upgrades qualify for several real-money rebate programs in Oklahoma. Most OKC-metro customers qualify for at least one utility rebate (OG&E, Edmond Electric, PSO, or OEC depending on who serves your address). Premier Insulation has been helping customers navigate these programs since 2006 — we know which jobs qualify, what paperwork each utility wants, and we fill out most of it for you.

Rebate programs change periodically — amounts and eligibility rules get updated by the utilities. The information below reflects the current published programs as of this page's last update. Call the utility directly (numbers below) or contact us and we'll confirm what's available for your specific address.

Local Utility Rebates

Each Oklahoma utility runs its own residential insulation rebate. Which one you qualify for depends on who provides your electric service.

OG&E Insulation Rebates (HEEP Program)

As part of OG&E's Home Energy Efficiency Program (HEEP), Premier Insulation customers can qualify for up to a $500 insulation rebate. Standard qualifying job is an attic reblow that brings the existing attic up to a current Oklahoma R-value target. We help fill out the paperwork — you sign and submit. Call (844) 882-5746 for more information.

Edmond Electric Insulation Rebate Program

Edmond Electric offers a tiered ceiling-insulation rebate based on your existing attic R-value: $500 for homes starting at R-0 to R-4, $300 for R-5 to R-14, and $250 for R-15 to R-22 (homes already at R-23 or higher don't qualify). To receive ANY rebate, the finished insulation must reach at least R-49 (roughly 16 inches of blown fiberglass) after the upgrade — that's higher than what some other utility rebates require, so we'll let you know during the bid whether the upgrade gets you across the threshold. The customer also schedules a post-install inspection with Edmond Electric. Call (405) 216-7608 for more information.

PSO (Public Service Co. of Oklahoma) — Residential Efficiency Rebates (enrollment in progress)

PSO offers two paths for residential customers: Single Upgrade (rebate for one qualifying improvement, including building insulation) or Multiple Upgrade (larger bonus rebate for completing 3+ qualifying improvements at once). PSO requires the contractor to be an enrolled Service Provider — Premier submitted our contractor enrollment application on May 9, 2026 (PSO project POHPCR1562466881) and is awaiting approval. Once enrollment completes, PSO customers will be able to claim PSO rebates through Premier. Visit powerforwardwithpso.com/rebates for current PSO rebate amounts and eligibility.

OEC (Oklahoma Electric Cooperative) — Insulation Rebate (in advocacy)

OEC does not currently offer a residential insulation rebate (their 2025 program covers HVAC, EV charging, and electrification but not standalone insulation). However, OEC does offer a FREE whole-home energy audit through Precise Building Performance — those audits frequently identify attic insulation as the highest-impact upgrade. Premier Insulation is actively working with OEC to advocate for adding an insulation rebate program that would benefit OEC members, OEC's grid (less peak summer load), and the contractors who serve the area. We'll update this page when the program launches. In the meantime, the OEC home energy audit is a great free first step. Call (405) 217-6631 for more information.

Federal Programs

The federal IRS Section 25C tax credit for insulation expired December 31, 2025 (eliminated by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed July 2025). The federal HOMES rebate program is still alive and coming to Oklahoma — implementation details are still being finalized by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.

Federal HOMES Rebate Program (coming to Oklahoma)

The Inflation Reduction Act's HOMES rebate program survived recent federal tax-credit changes and will offer up to $2,000 per household for retrofits that achieve 20-35% energy reduction, or up to $4,000 for 35%+ reduction — stackable with utility rebates. Oklahoma's Department of Commerce is still finalizing the program rollout; we're tracking the launch and will be ready to enroll as a participating contractor as soon as the program opens. For current status, contact the Oklahoma State Energy Office at [email protected].

How We Help With Rebate Paperwork

  • We confirm during the bid which rebate programs your home qualifies for before you commit to the job
  • We document the work in the format the utility needs — pre-install R-value, post-install R-value, square footage, materials used
  • We pre-fill the contractor portion of the rebate application so you only need to add your account info and signature
  • We provide a written invoice with the line items the utility wants to see (most rebate programs require a specific cost breakdown)
  • If the utility comes back with questions, we respond directly so you don't have to chase them

Common Questions

How do I know which utility rebate I qualify for?+
It's based on whose electric service you have — you can only claim the rebate from your electric utility. OG&E covers most of OKC metro and currently offers an insulation rebate. Edmond Electric covers Edmond and offers a tiered ceiling insulation rebate. PSO covers parts of the OKC metro and offers efficiency rebates including insulation — Premier's contractor enrollment with PSO is currently in progress (will be available to PSO customers shortly). OEC (Norman, Moore, Newcastle, south OKC metro) does NOT currently rebate insulation directly but offers a free home energy audit — Premier is actively working with OEC to advocate for adding an insulation rebate. We'll confirm during the bid which programs you qualify for.
What happened to the federal tax credit for insulation?+
The federal IRS Section 25C tax credit (which previously covered 30% of insulation materials cost up to $1,200/yr) was eliminated by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed July 4, 2025. Insulation projects placed in service after December 31, 2025 no longer qualify for §25C. If you completed insulation work in 2025 and haven't yet filed your 2025 tax return, you can still claim it on Form 5695 — call us if you need a copy of your invoice with the materials breakdown. For 2026 work, the federal HOMES rebate program (still active) is the next federal incentive to watch — we'll update this page when Oklahoma launches it.
Do I have to apply for the rebate myself?+
No — we fill out the contractor portion of the paperwork for you. You sign and submit. Some programs require the homeowner to mail or upload the application; others let us submit on your behalf. We'll walk you through whichever process applies.
How long does it take to receive the rebate?+
Typical turnaround is 4-8 weeks from when the paperwork is submitted to when you receive the check (or bill credit, depending on the program). Edmond Electric tends to be on the faster end; the larger utility programs can take longer during peak season.
What about the new federal HOMES rebate everyone's talking about?+
Oklahoma is still finalizing how the federal HOMES rebate program will be administered locally. Expected launch sometime in 2026. The program will offer up to $2,000-$4,000 per household for whole-home efficiency upgrades, stackable with the utility rebates. We're tracking the rollout — call us and we'll tell you the current status.
Does the rebate cover the full cost of the job?+
No — rebates are a partial cost reduction, typically a few hundred dollars off a multi-thousand-dollar attic job. Even with the rebate, the math usually still works out to 3-7 year payback from energy savings alone.
Do you offer free estimates?+
Yes — every estimate is free, written, and includes confirmation of which rebate programs your home qualifies for. Call (405) 659-1046 or fill out our contact form to schedule one.

I have used this company multiple times for insulating both my personal home and my rental. They do a good job and communicate well.
